Pawkino
Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 September 2026
Pawkino turns photographs of your pet into new pictures and short films. This page says exactly what we collect to do that, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
- Photos of your pet. The reference photos you upload, and everything Pawkino generates from them.
- Your pet's details. Name, species and breed, if you give one.
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if you provide it. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read yours, and neither can anyone who obtained our database.
- Purchases. Which credit pack or subscription you bought, and when. Card details never reach us; Apple handles payment.
- A notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when something you asked for has finished.
- Whether creating a star worked. Each time you create a star we note whether it succeeded and, if not, why — too few photos, or photos that didn't show one animal — so we can see where people get stuck and make that step easier. It records the reason, never the photos.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your other photos, or any advertising identifier. There is no analytics or tracking SDK in the app.
Who else sees your photos
Generating a picture means sending your pet's reference photos to an AI provider. Today that is OpenRouter, which routes the request to the image or video model that makes it — currently Google's. Your photos are also sent, briefly, to a smaller model that checks an upload really is a photo of one pet before we spend anything generating from it.
That is the only third party your photos reach, and only for the request you asked for. We do not sell your photos, and we do not hand them to anyone for advertising or for training their own models.
Where it is kept
On our own server in Europe. Photos and generated media are files on that machine; the rest is rows in our database. Backups are taken daily and kept for seven days.
Deleting it
In the app: the account menu, then Help & Privacy → Delete account. That is not a request queued for someone to action — it deletes your account, your pets, every photo you uploaded, everything Pawkino made for you, and your credit history, immediately and permanently. Nothing is retained afterwards except what a backup already holds, which ages out within seven days.
You can also delete a single reference photo or a single creation at any time, and those go the same way.
Sign in with Apple
If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only Apple's forwarding address. We never see your real one, and that is fine — it is all we need.
Children
Pawkino is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
